This series of pics were taken in Chesapeake Virginia. I used a Dakota camera with manual everything.

By this point in the route the locomotives have started building cruising speed and believe me the ground was rumbling.

I work in the area and go by this stretch of track almost daily. 2 Inbound and 1-2 Outbound coal trains go thru there as well as a couple container trains. I caught this one 7 miles north going across the Elizabeth River at the same time I was in my car. It had yet to get to the speed it was going when it went by me in the pics, so I had a few minutes to get ahead of it. It was a cloudy drizzly day which bought out the black in the subject.
