Norfolk Southern has its own "YouTube" Channel !

This was recently mentioned on another website, and a few of the videos on other Forums and threads here - mostly in the Model Railroading Forum - but I believe it hasn’t been generally referenced to date - so here’s the link:

Presently there appear to be a total of 36 videos ‘‘uploaded’’ to there, ranging in length from about 16 seconds to almost 12 minutes, and covering a wide variety of subject.

Paul,

Thanks for posting the link. It was most informative. I have some, as a railfan with local connections, read little knowledge of the railroads but I think NS is on 'the right track". The only problem I see is that all railroads need to address a far larger percentage of the population than those of us who view things on You Tube. Those of us who are into railroading view these things and wonder why they are not presented to the general public who have a very small understanding of what they accomplish. A few years back I had a friend say the railroads were good for nothing but hauling coal. Today’s reality proves that statement wrong.

I think it would behoove ALL railroads, short lines, regionals, and class I’s to blow their horn and advertise to the general public the advantages and savings they offer. Would it cost less to ship everything from Los Angelus to Detroit by truck than by rail. Ain’t never gonna happen. It’s tie for the other railroads to climb aboard.

Just my observations.

As you might guess a European Railroad has gone much further. Check out Deutsche Bahn’s video website BahnTV Online.

There is the TTX Company on YouTube.

Psst! Don’t tell anyone, but NS wants as much public push they can get for PPP funding of the Crescent Corridor and against any rail rereg. The difference is that now the RR needs public support. Before it didn’t matter much. Doesn’t hurt that the CEO is pretty much a self-avowed railfan. (But, don’t let that fool you. He is ALL business.)
