That’s nice of the company to offer discounts. Thank you for 40 years of service, you can have $5 off.
This will truly be a “once in a lifetime opprotunity.” I am glad NS is giving everyone a chance to see these units together in one place at one time. Keep piling up the good P.R. NS
$25 or $30 per adult. Thats just plain crazy, not only that it SUX. Typical NS and a museum highway robbery. You can stick them up your ass NS & Spencer!!!
And Trains is sending editor Jim Wrinn back home for the holidays to cover this, with photos, yes? I hope so. Take a wide lens along. You’ll need it for 20 locos!
Mr. Barry, do these locomotives belong to you? If not, 30 is not an exorbitant amount for the privilege of viewing and photographing a unique collection. After all, some if not most, will have to travel farther than you to get there, and that isn’t free.
Mr. Barry, I can only assume you are among the people who never actually ride historical trains, such as steam excursions, choosing instead to make the highways a dangerous place by “chasin’” the train, thus never having to “pay” a dime toward the operation. It would still be a bargain at twice the price to get photos of all those heritage locomotives.
Hey folks, the Museum is a huge property that costs a bunch to operate. The State of North Carolina no longer provides a budget subsidy, so the museum has to support itself through fees and donations. Otherwise it will cease to exist. The folks at Spencer are doing a superb job. The event July 4th will be a great chance to get some great photos. Thanks to NS and all those who made it possible. The cost may be more than some want to pay, but many people pay much more for a meal at many popular restaurants or concert tickets or tickets to sporting events.
Mr. Barry, please keep in mind NS is helping the museum raise funds with the cost of admission. I live near the PM 1225 and that museum would give an arm and a leg to be able to host such a great event to help raise funds for the 1225 restoration. I would go if I were closer and would gladly pay the modest fee. Norfolk Southern, you are the shining star of the railroad industry. Thank you for your support of this and for the great looking heritage units!
Hope they leave the scab-built EMD’s behind!
Not sure how Mr. Barry’s comment made it past the moderator, but a small mind has been revealed. Thanks, NS, for the upcoming gathering.
