Anyone purchase a heritage unit yet? I just got the PRR Heritage unit from a LHS, complete with broken front coupler.

If it’s a plastic coupler, you’d have to replace it eventually anyway.
If the loco is HO Intermountain it is a Kadee the Pennsy unit I got had a broken o ring the NKP unit a broken front handrail the SOU unit missing long handrail on engineer side.
Yes, I have all of the Heritage units Overland made.

Not I, but I have a comment for Norfolk Southern …
NS has a rich heritage with many attractive and colorful paint schemes. … So why did NS decide on ugly black and white? … I admit, the horse is a nice touch, but it could be on something more colorful.
Because Black & Gold was already taken! D&RGW baby!
When Southern Rwy black merges with N&W black, the options are not to bright colorwise [8D]

Watching Norfolk Southern locomotives thunder by here on a daily basis I find the black and white kind of cool myself in a menacing sort of way. Besides it sort of harkens back to the days of steam, when large black locomotives criss-crossed North America. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I like the gloss black and white rearing horse and horse head myself [swg]. Good on railroads like Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific for celebrating their heritage by painting up some special units. Now…where’s a Chessie Systems heritage Unit…[Y]?
Happy modeling!
Don.
