Norfolk Southern intermodal trains on the Shenandoah Valley Main Line

I was caught off guard on the 4th of July by catching an intermodal train in the yard at Shenandoah, Virginia. On asking a gentleman about which train it was, he told me that the train was #202. I have only once seen an intermodal on the Roanoke Division/Hagerstown Division once before. It was on a Saturday and at approximately 1:00. Since I am almost sure that most intermodal trains on this line travel at night, I want to know which intermodal trains use this line and when. I have consulted a train schedule on line that said that 22T uses this line, but I have been told that this is incorrect. I want to know which trains use it , when they use it and how often. Thanks

Take a look at these webpages and the ‘parent’ websites and the links at them - the first seems to indicate there aren’t any intermodals between Roanoke and Shenandoah, the second lists about 10 between Shenandoah and Hagerstown, but doesn’t provide times for any of them:

On July 4the there was a posting here of a Bridge Closure causing problems on the Shenandoah Div.

Thread linked here:http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/forums/t/193949.aspx

Apparently the problem was with a Trestle Bridge at a location called Honey Run. And the Thread reported that the trestle was under repair and should be done pretty quickly(?). The specifics of the problem with the trestle were unknown.

Could that closure be related to the fact that the train you observed was on a re-route?

I am aware that more intermodal trains come across the Hagerstown district because they come across the B Line into Front Royal and then transfer over to the Hagerstown district. The intermodal facility is in Front Royal. I was just wondering which ones if any at all goes up the Roanoke district from Roanoke to Shenandoah. Thanks for the information on the web sites.
