Norfolk Southern releases NS Heritage locomotive
Absolutely stunning, everyone of these locomotives are great. I can’t wait to see one of these out on the line. I bet all these AC’s end up hauling coal in SW Va. sometime somewhere.

The most appealing roster pic’ ever.
I, sort of, don’t want to know if the sky color was photo-shopped from the loco’s color.
If it wasn’t, that humble composition vaults into a top-ten list.
Maybe when its all said and done Norfolk Southern should just paint all the locomotives in this scheme!
That looks better than the NS all black paint.
The colourful heritage locomotives attest to the fact that Norfolk Southern could change from the current black paint to Tuscan red with gold striping as a reflection of its N&W and Pennsy heritage. Black is best left to funerals and morticians.
Give the photographer a standard paycheck. O. Winston Link was photographing trains that were moving in the dark.
I love it! What a beautiful sunset as well! You can tell Norfolk Southern really appreciates its fans and it’s heritage.
I love the color on the disel.
Very nice!!!
Very nice!!!
However if NS adapted the original Norfolk Sourhern paint scheme for all locomotives – paired with BNSF’s pumpkin colors, think how monotonous it would make things!
The heritage units on severel of the railroads are amazing
I don’t know who the company photog. is but they should give 'em a big raise! The paint is great and it seems he/she has taken a page from O. Winston Link’s book. How appropo for the subject.

I don’t know who is the photog for NS, but they should give them a great big raise! Looks like they are taking lessons from O. Winston Link. As my wife put it " Ooo, Thats pretty"

Great paint scheme. Looking forward to seeing the remaining units that are to be painted.
As for the sunset, it’s just like many we get here in Chattanooga as the sun sets over Lookout Mountain.
I love this, it brings back memories of watching the old baldwins in the original NS colors while growing up near their track. Just wish some of the old NS hands could have seen this. Great Job!!!
Neat to have an “original” Norfolk Southern Heritage locomotive.
Will this locomotive make it to “Norfolk” (VA) on the original “Norfolk Southern” Railway?
Pity it isn’t a Baldwin;first non steam I remember seeing was an NS Baldwin in South Norfolk. I was scared of steamers, as I thought there was something alive in them;now that I’m older,I know there was;my heart! Bring back 611 & 1218!
