normstrainworld.com - anybody ordered from them? Results?

I’m looking at Norm’s Trainworld in Randolph, Nebraska for possible order of Intermountain upcoming loco release. Has anybody ordered from them in past?

Thanks,

Looking at their website, it looks iffy… all the HO engines is Thomas the Tank and the site was last updated in October. It might be a great hobby shop the but their website has a lot to be desired. But then again, that can be said for alot of hobby shops’ sites

Norm may be one of the most honest of hobby shops, but unless you’re willing to take the risk of losing your money, I’d shop at one of the more well-known dealers. They’re certainly not going to be the only store offering the Intermountain locomotive.

Norm’s is one of those ‘Gypsy’ train show dealers that worked a lot of the bigger shows like the older GATS shows. I never thought the prices were that good - I suspect you can get just as good a deal from many of the Internet dealers that have ‘fresh’ web sites. His web site does not look too bad - but I have only bought stuff from him at a show(at least 5 years ago).

Just ordered from Norm’s. Waiting for a call back from them, the prices that were charged on my card were higher than posted on the web site. It remains to be seen how they will take care of this.

I have bought from Norm several times at trainshows in the Kansas City area and have found his pricing at the shows competitive. I bought several ExactRail grain cars from him that were not available from my regular sources and paid less for them than I would have paid if I mail ordered. He gave me his card, but if I bought from him, I would be tempted to drive up and purchase (letting him know in advance) as they are out on the road a lot.
