Does anyone know of a North American supplier of HOm (HOn3.5) gauge parts? I’ve been looking for trucks and wheelsets specifically, but I’ve not found anything yet. Anyone have any ideas?
Grandt Line. ‘HOn30 Home Depot’ website has iinfo, but is old.
I think he’s looking for meter-gauge wheelsets in HO, which would be a little over HOn39.
Good luck with that, Reiscool !
Yes, meter-gauge is correct. Really, anything that runs on 12mm gauge will work.
12mm gauge track is used to represent HOm (meter gauge in HO scale) in parts of Europe, and there is some European prototype stock made in 12mm gauge. TT scale (1/120) accurately uses 12mm (within 0.001") to model standard gauge. 12mm scales out to 41" in HO, which is pretty close to HOn42. North American HO narrow gauge has tended to standardize on HOn3 (10.5mm track) and HOn30 (9mm track) for modeling practically all the narrow gauges.
The more common approach in North America (and New Zealand and others) to accurately model 42" gauge prototype is to use Sn42 - S scale on HO (16.5mm) track. There are some North American prototype Sn42 car kits and trucks available; RMC had a couple of photographs in an article on a recent Toronto RPM meet.
