North Baltimore Ohio Cranes Arrive in Toledo Today

Our newspaper has a news release saying that the new overhead cranes destined for the CSX Intermodal Yard in North Baltimore, Ohio, are arriving in Toledo today via ship.

I’m guessing that they will be transported by rail from Toledo to the new yard. There are two possible routes; one through Fostoria and one through Deshler. Does anyone have any solid info on a.) which way they might travel and b.) when they might make the trip(s)?

Thanks.

I saw on another web site that trucks were taking parts of the cranes down I-75 and making the tight turns on rt 18 through north baltimore. There was also some debate on how they(odot) could expand the roads for the additional truck traffic. Also if any would be shipped by rail I think it would come down the C&O via fostoria that way the train wouldn’t require any extra back up or runaround moves.Interesting times indeed.
