Hope everyone made it thru “Ivan” in one piece. Please check in and let us know if you can.
Alls fine here in Tuscaloosa. We got a lot of rain and some high winds, but just before it got here it turned more to the East. There are many still in trouble on the East side of I-65.
I wonder how Dave and his property made out. Man, Pensacola got the Devil himself.

Rex- glad you o.k… Hope the rest of the gang is also. Feel sorry for all the pain all
the victims are going through.
Phil
Fine here in B’ham. Glad Ivan went more east as still a Cat 1 storm even this far inland. Been without power until about two hours ago. Talked with family in Mobile and P’cola. Seems they’ll be without power and water for 2-3 more weeks. Reminds me of Hurricane Frederic. After he went through in 1979 we were without power for two weeks and my wife was 7 months pregnant at the time. Talk about misery for both of us.
next door neighbor is a trucker. just got back from Tenn. Said some areas won’t get
'lectricity for weeks,maybe months.
Phil
let’s hope Dave9999 and his family got away in time, he is from Pensacola,
Ya haven’t seen anything on here from him in the last few days since Ivan, so maybe he and family are still without pwr or still out of town. Keep your fingers “x’sed”
Good Evening:
Leats keep this on the first page so the guys can see it and check in.
Hace a blessed day
Bob
My turn to bring this thread forward for all that has been affected by IVAN
Good Idea Teffy,
I hope everybody made it through OK and checks in as they can.

Went back and read original thread on Ivan where Dave said he was thinking about going east. Hope he did, as that would have gotten him out of the storm’s track fairly quick but it would have prevented his return to P’cola just as quick as both lanes of I-10 over Escambia Bay are closed. One span of the bridge on the eastbound side was washed away, and the westbound side was badly damaged. US-98 along Pensacola Bay is heavily damaged, US-90 is washed out also across Escambia Bay. He probably did get home but the latest estimates I’ve seen on power restoration for NW Florida is now 3-4 weeks minimum with some areas going up to 8 weeks.
PS. rex are you gonna come to our show in Bessemer next month from T-town?
I didn’t know about it. Please email me some info. I would like very much to go.
Carey, looked you up on the Wrecking Crew. Saw your Pic,but no info on show. Is it SER or local?

My Son-in-Law’s family lives on the bay at Ft. Walton and hardly got any damage. That’s not too far from Pensacola so maybe Dave’s place is where it could have survived ok. Really hard to tell by locaton. X’ing fingers for him.

My turn to bump
Hello Everyone,
I’m alive and well… My yard looks like… like a hurricane hit it[B)]. We faired pretty well considering.
I got power back late yesterday (thursday).
I would like to say that in the face of disaster, people really come though. There are power trucks from
all over the country and Canada. Hydro Quebec is the company that restored my power. I think I speak
for everyone in the effected areas when I say we are so very thankful for everyones hard work in getting
the power back on.
I went to Vicksburg Ms and avoided the storm. The people of Mississippi were great…Very helpful and
accomadating. We stop at a resturant and when they learned we were from Pensacola, they returned
our money and gave us a box full of food to take back to our campground for other people running from
the storm. That kind of compassion is rare these days. I left Vicksburg on Friday of last week and went
to Meridian Mississippi. We stayed there until yesterday and drove home.
It is an unbelievable sight. There are trees down EVERYWHERE.Buildings are gone or badly damaged.
Everywhere you look something is damaged. And somehow my house has very little. I lost my fence and
I have a couple of trees down. My satalite dish didn’t even blow away !!!
My friends and family are all ok and so are my trains!!
I’ll be checking in here a little less in the next few days… I have a lot of work to do, at home and for other
people. Also my DSL is out and I am using my back up dial-up which has limited time.
Thanks for your concern… Dave
A Big Hi, DAVE[:D][:D]
