[?]Well I just heard something interesting this morning. I got called to work at 2 this morning for a recrew of a CN train to bring in to the terminal. The Syracuse crew told me that the Superintendant told them that CSX is in discussion with other NORAC Railroads in the northeast to transfer ou RR over to the new Eastern Code rules being formulated. Now i have heard this before but they said it would involve all the Railroads basically East of the MIssissippi. I think that would be a little tough though. I am not all familiar with the rules of Railroads out west, but don’t they have something similar out there also. Personally I think it would be good thing on CSX right now because we operate under 4 sets of rules where we work now, depending on what part of the system you work on. If anyone has any info on this I would like to hear there take on it.
The western roads use the General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR). Some lines in other parts of the country also use GCOR.

Another thing is how hard would it be to standardize all operating rules across a certain area without violating the union agreements amongts the different railroads.
