Northern Pacific Center, Brainard, MN

Hi, my family has a lake place up north on Gull lake about 10 minutes west of Brainard. Whenever we go into to town to Mills Fleet Farm and such, we always hear a train over there. If there is anybody who has been (or lives in or around) to Brainard, I’d love to hear what kind of action they have over at the old Northern Pacific Center and in the surrounding area.

We get coal, coal, and more coal. My grandparents have lived in the same house since the 1940’s, back when it was NP, and now everyimte I go there, I get to see the BNSF. It is right between Deerwood and Brainerd. A couple times a week you will see the Brainerd local, which switches the Tres Joist paper mill outside of Brianerd and used to do some street running. Other than that, about 7 coal trains a day.

cool just what i was looking for thank you!

By the way, I love to visit the lake superior railroad museum. I was up in Duluth for a hockey tournament so I got to see it for an hour or two. And the building is just beautiful.

Did you see that Railroadradio.net now has a Staples Sub. radio stream?
