Can anyone give me an accurate list of what steel mills and other steel related industries are still active in the Chicago/ NW Indiana area since the big shake up in the steel industry a couple of years ago?
I know that my father-in -law just retired from the US Steel Gary Works earlier this year, and that the operation is still going. Not sure about what became of any of the others. A friend of mine’s dad worked for another NW Indiana company that went under last year, then was restarted, but I can’t recall the name of the company right now. I will try to find out, but it won’t be until at least Thursday.
