Northwest Railroads using GP38s

Hey guys.[:D]

Would anyone know what railroads would be using the EMD GP38 in Washington state or British Columbia in the late 1960s? I’m getting ready to paint my GP and I’m looking for a paint scheme. I have done some searching on the web but haven’t made the right find yet.

BN got GP38’s in 1970, and UP bought GP38-2 engines in 1974. I am not sure when CP or CN got theirs. The GP38 production did not start until 1966, so late 60’s is really pushing it to include GP38’s.

CPR’s first 6 GP38ACs were bought in 1970. CN did not get GP38s but did buy the subsequent GP38-2. A faint recollection suggests those early CP GP38ACs were to be assigned to the prairies.
