I need to model an EMD loco with the headlight mounted on the nose, NOT on the cab roof. I have never seen a nose-headlight EMD model offered by any of the major mfgr’s (Kato, P2K, Atlas, Athearn), and Cannon doesn’t list a headlight-equipped nose section on their website.
Has anybody ever written a article on how to convert a standard roof-headlighted loco to one with a nose-mounted light?
No need for an article on this conversion - it’s as simple as getting the Details West nose-mount headlight casting, following the instructions, then removing and plating over the high-mounted headlight to match your prototype.
DW even have their catalogue online at http://www.detailswest.com

Thanx BW, excellent info! I just didn’t know which ‘rock’ to turn over…
