Hello totally new here. I want to know good websites of where to see value of or sell trains. I have pieces of them even a Tootsie Roll one! Thanks! cb0097276@gmail.com
Trainz.com is a pretty good website. Ebay is common too. Trainz would be easier; Ebay would produce a little more money.
I haven’t sold anything through Trainz, but have bought from them. From what I have heard (and read hear on the forums) is that is quite easy to sell stuff to them, but what they pay you may only be a small percentage of what the price they set when they sell your stuff on their site.
For Ebay I have both bought and sold. The good part is whatever you sell the item for is what you get (minus a small Ebay fee). However, you then have to box up the item and send it via USPS or FedEx or UPS or whatever to the buyer - of course, the buyer pays whatever shipping cost you stipulated in the listing so you’re not paying that.
It is pretty easy. They will even cover shipping. Prices were like $2000 for the entire train section of a hobby store that went out of business in the late '90s.
From what I understand, it is apparently pretty easy. My big concern is someone posted on a different forum that they had sold some things to Trainz; when Trainz put his items up for sale, their asking price was like 5 times what they had paid him.

I doubt that Trainz neither sold the items for that price, nor expected to. They list an item at such-and-such a price, and then they drop it until the item sells. Sometimes it can go pretty far down–I once saw a switcher make it from $100 all the way to $30 before someone bought it. And, personally, I’ve never seen that big of a markup, but that was just my experience.
