Time change this Sunday. We spring forward two weeks earlier this year. This means most of us will have to manually reset our computer clocks. I think the new Vista is the only system that will do it automatically with the two week difference.
Or just be off an hour for two weeks and it will fix itself.
If you have ‘automatic update’ running on Win XP, the new DST values are loaded. The big issue is if you have Sun Java enabled application: They may use ‘Java Time Clock’ and if your JDK’s are not updated, it will not trip correctly. The good news for most of us personal PC users is that we can reset the system clock if it is not correct.
And I do not think our DCC systems will blow up(I remember some folks worrried about this with Y2K)…
If your auto update for java is turned on, you probably don’t have to worry about that either. There was a new update released just this week which probably took care of the new time change.
Just makes me even more happy that Arizona doesn’t go on Daylight Time. The sun is still going to rise and set at the same times it always has, so tinkering with clocks does not “save” anything.
