Hello all,

Summer is finally ending… hopefully it will cool off soon so I can get into the train room and do some stuff… it’s just too hot to be up there from June to September. I’m definately getting the itch.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the hurricane situation in Louisiana, I did some work on a Coast Guard ship in Morgan City a few weeks ago, hope everyone down there comes through this mess intact. Real nice people there and it seems like they’ve been through enough the last couple of years.

Read Chiefs MTH thread, and saw where some folks were talking about Protosound 1… is it just me or was that system confusing? Never could keep track of the clinks, clanks and clunks and didn’t know what the h*** I was doing most of the time. Also got carpal tunnel from flinging the throttle up and down all the time.

Has anyone heard when the Peeps are coming out? Ben waiting for that NS set a loooooong time. Speaking of NS, my son “marks up” with NS on Sept 10 as a conductor. Now he has a REAL nice layout to use, he calls it “Lambert’s Point”. I’d be willing to wager his coal unloader is the most realistic around!

Yep. Thats where he’s working tonight. I think he’s on the hump today. Whole lot of coal is moving through that place!

Twaldie, sure is good to chat with you. Come join us at the “POT”. Now your son is an outstanding guy as he works for the MIGHTY NS. [^] We’ve chatted about a CTT convention in Roanoke VA. Maybe we could all get this going and you two join us and he could show us around.

Roanoke would be a great place for a convention. Lots to see there. I think Bob would be able to arrange some kind of tour of the yard, but I’m not sure. I could call NS’s PR dept and see if tours are possible.
