Serves her right for not buying a real car in the first place, and a fix it again Tony to boot. Although it does have to be said that breakdown lanes attract Fiats much as trailer parks do tornadoes, so it’s not as if public policy can ignore them.
My suspicion is that the situation is surely no worse than the counterflow lane at the Lincoln Tunnel, where any obstruction in the lane would result in the bus(es) coming to a stop long before hitting something. If that results in buses having to wait for emergency highway patrol to help the little old lady either get going or be stingered to the next exit… so be it.
Was anyone else reminded of Obama’s 165mph bus plan when reading this?
