All the Seinhemer photos published in the November issue of TRAINS are outstanding, but of those in the article, what is your favorite, and more importantly, why?
For me, I chose the photo on page 56-57 of the helper engine at Saugus, CA.
This image captures the two qualities I like in a great train photograph. First, there is the massive steam engine: the big drivers, the crusty engine exterior, and the blasts of steam into night. Second, there is the human element. The two crew men are seen exchanging a good story and you can’t help but wish you were there to hear the wild tale.
So what is your favorite of those pictured and why?
I liked the last picture of the six signal lights at two mile intervals going up the mountain. Without the caption, I would not have understood the significance of the picture, but after reading the caption, the scale of the scene, and many questions come to mind. What a thought provocing photo !
Keep those cards and letters coming. What photo did you like the best and why? No wrong answers here.
