It may be the MTH no. 20-2152-1 F3 AA set (cab numbers 800-801) from the Spring 1997 catalog.
Lionel made an F7 diesel which was painted in the same paint scheme. That engine came out a couple of years ago. They might still be available from the large mail order houses. The F7 came as an A-B-A set.
Believe Atlas did an AA set but can’t remember if it was F3’s or F7’s.
Those sets are around if you search a little. CTT advertiser Nassau Hobby Center has a full set listed in their ad on page 12 of same CTT magazine you are referring to. They appear fairly regularly on the Big Auction Site. Just saw a new ABBA set at the sale at Historic RailPark in Bowling Green, Kentucky this past Saturday. Dixie Union Station, Mason, Ohio, shows a used ABBA & Passenger Car combo in their inventory ( http://www.dixieunionstation.com/Inventory/inventory.asp. ). They are really not hard to find. Good hunting!
