Brent, I took my (then) fiancee to The Cannery back in 1974. We had a wonderful evening, but had not returned until last summer when we learned it was to be torn down due to its location and the difficulty of access on the secure docks. Again, we enjoyed ourselves very much, but this time with another couple. The next morning, we walked to this roundhouse remnant from our hotel. What a grand place it must have been in its day! The turntable is in good condition, too.

Crandell. I have had many a meal at the Cannery and many family celebrations were held there over the years. The best restaurant in Vancouver as far as I was concerned. I think we will all miss it.
The old round house is looking pretty dapper these days, though it looks like it could return to the business it was designed for in the wink of an eye. That turntable is just calling for another engine to roll out on it.
If you look hard you can see a ghost!
They’re not all ghost though.
The sole remaining resident with its nose pushed up against the glass, wondering, why was it left behind.[V]
