Got a deal on a brass tender shell, it’s a PRR long haul coal tender, now I found on the internet an exploded view of all the parts to complete the tender, on close scrutiny there are quite a few differences from the diagram to the tender, such as the hole at the back for the doghouse is too small on the diagram, there are more holes above the water tank than on the diagram. And are these parts still available? Is it possible this is not a PRR tender but a standard 12 wheel long haul tender?
…
Do you have a manufacturer or pics that you could share?
The PRR had more than one large tender class. There were many different sizes of dog houses used and depending on what era class light differences. Claw foot on brackets on the rear or tender deck, also the older tombstone markers. Reverse lights and other details were different on each class. Can you post a picture?
There is no such thing as a standard tender. Each railroad had their own specs.

I’m kind of flying blind here but remember there was more than one PRR long haul tender . And the exploded diagram you found may have been intended to go with the Bowser metal casting model. Even some K4s 4-6-2s were equipped with 250-P-75 tenders and that was not the only long haul tender type on the Pennsy.
I have to defer to others on what internet resources our friend can use to more precisely identify the tender in question but I wouldn’t expect drawings from different sources to all necessarily agree as to detailing a commercial model.

DAVE; You are right. the diagram is from Bowser, it’s #150650 long haul tender, it’s almost identicalto the diagram except for details on the water tank deck, does anyone know if these parts are still available and where, does anyone else make brass parts?
