Finally finished with it and don’t look like a parking lot no more![:P] Mechanism works pretty good too. If you don’t have patients, DON’T attempt this kit!

Loathar that looks marvellous! Great job and photos.

I’ll have to remember the patience thing when we go out Christmas shopping![:P]
Great job! [tup]
Great Job!! One question though - is your tt in a high crime area - is that why the policeman is standing near the tt house?[:-^]
That is one neat piece of real estate!!! I like the weed patches.[tup][bow]
Nice weathering, loathar. I also like how you have done the pit floor with gravel…it turned out very well. Two thumbs way up.

Thanks all![:)] I’m waiting to really streak up the pit walls till I have it in place and all the track laid up to it. Fortunately I still have almost all my hair after building it. I definately had to set it down and walk away from it a bunch of times to keep from throwing it against the wall! [:P] I’ll post a video of how smooth it works when I get it installed.(hint-DON’T glue the large drive gear in place!)
So, I’m guesing this thing was a pain in your backside for a while huh? Well, I can see you have a ton of patience, because the finished product looks GREAT!!! [tup][tup][tup]
Nice toning.
Loathar, I really like the turntable. I’m working on the first of 3 of these same Walthers TTs for my RR. Would you tell me how you painted the walkways and ties? Spray, brush, model RR paints, ceramic paints, weathering? I haven’t found a color or method that looks right to me, but I really like yours. You mention streaking the pit walls. How do you intend to do that? You say ‘don’t glue the large gear’. I haven’t gotten that far yet, but what problem did that cause? Thanks for any help, jcopilot
The pit looks really good. Not too much, not too little weathering. Just right [tup]
I LIKE it, I LIKE it!! [bow][bow]

jcopilot-Check your PM.
Loathar, Got your message from PM. Thanks so much for the information. I haven’t progressed far enough to encounter any of the difficulties you mentioned so this has been timed perfectly. I’ll print off your message and keep it at the worktable for reference. Thanks again, it’s great being able to get advice from someone who’s done ‘it’, jcopilot
Well done! I might have to use your photos as a reference for my own weathering.
