NRHS previews 2014 convention in Arkansas

This will probably be a year late since Trains recently reported that the Alco’s will be replaced this September with 3 big who cares what type units. I will have made a trip to the A&M and other sights I want to see this August. Also, in 2014 I probably will no longer be a member since I have a bad feeling about a 25% dues increase.

The Alcos will still be there. The A&M is buying three EMD AC units for the mainline trains, everything else will be Alco still, as will all A&M trains for the convention. In fact, the convention has plans for special photography at places you normally can’t get to unless you walk many miles in from the highway.

The Alcos will still be there in 2014. The A&M is just buying three EMD AC locomotives for the mainline trains, everything else will be Alco. All NRHS trains are scheduled to be Alco powered, including the photo train with planned photo locations that require several miles of walking if you don’t arrive by train. And for those who like all trains, the paint job for the new EMDs is terrific, if they look anything like the painting diagrams.

This should be an exciting convention. The NRHS has worked hard to put this convention together. With no guarantees of big time main line excursions, this is an exceptional alternative. This convention should not be as expensive as some in the past.
