NS 999

Did anyone hear about NS 999, the battery powered locomotive?

You mean the one on page 16 of the January Trains magazine?

Or the one that showed up in the trade magazines a couple months ago.

The one that recharges its batteries via dynamic braking? I understand NS is the market for a couple more.

At least 2 threads here on it already - though in/under the ‘‘General Discussion’’ heading/ classification instead of ‘‘Locomotives’’ - and mentioned in a couple more. See -

I wouldn’t know, I’m a mrr subscriber

If I’m not mistaken that locomotive also has a small pony engine that powers a generator as a back up recharging system.
