What are all the Detectors and Scanner Frequencies from Toledo Ohio to Cleveland Ohio along the NS Chicago Mainline that starts in Toledo going through Huron, Lorain, Berea, Brookpark, and into Cleveland? How do the Dectectors get picked up on the Scanner? Because so far I only get Engineer Chatter and Tower Annoucments.
Can someone plase anwser my questions, because it’s important to me.
As for the frequencies - search the local communities for scanner information (ie, Lorain scanner or Lorain frequencies). They often offer pretty comprehensive information as discerned by local scanner enthusiasts.
The detectors should be picked up on the main road frequency, which I believe in this case is 160.980. All trains will call signals on that frequency as well. If you are already using this frequency then sorry, I can’t help
How far away are the detectors? Detectors tend to have less broadcast power than the radios on the locomotives. Reason is that they only have to communicate with the train that just passed over the detector. I’ve got a CN (ex-IC) detector about 6 miles south of here. I can rarely hear it. But I usually hear the engineer further south of the detector.
