NS Heritage Schemes Unveiled

Hello Everyone

Last week NS announced plans to produce a heritage fleet for their upcoming 30th anniversary.

Today they released sketches of the proposed schemes! Should prove to be a colorful alternative to the basic NS black! I’ll sure look forward to seeing some of these in my neck of the woods!

Thought some of you folks would be interested…Take care.

I really hope someone jumps in to make some of these in HO scale!

Preferably Athearn and Intermountain.

Hey Ed,

This has been (and is currently) posted on the General Discussion forum. I’m glad (and I know you are, too) to see that the Lightning Stripes will be proudly represented.

Tom

Hi Tom,

I did a Search our Community for NS Heritage and nothing came up.

Sorry if I mirrored another post. I thought it was more like a prototype information subject.

Yes, I’ll look forward to seeing the NYC unit. How about a hundred or so Pacemaker boxcars for good measure!

Take care, Ed.

PS Thanks, Lion.

No bother, Ed. It’s definitely appropriate for this forum.

Maybe they can buy them from InterMountain. They’re due out next month anyhow. Got four on order.

And I’m still hopin’ that the MTH 20th Century Limited cars are still on schedule for May '12 release. My J-3a Dreyfuss and J-1e Hudson are just aching to pull something.

Tom

Thanks for posting.

This just made some model loco manufacturers day. Now, if Atlas or Kato could get a chance at it. Not likely though as these are likely going to be ES44 or SD70 units. Great looking units.

Richard

It will more likely be Athearn or, perhaps, Proto 2000 - if they deem it a profitable venture.

Tom

Intermountain has the tooling for the ES44 and MTH and Athearn have it for the SD70. We just got an Intermountain ES44 and look forward to trying it out, looks good. We have an MTH SD70ACe and it is awesome. I’ve not been real crazy about Athearn’s recent releases as far as quality. Proto2000 is good stuff, but I don’t think they have the tooling already done.

Richard

Wow! Talk about handsome Heritage locomotives! Now why couldn’t Union Pacific have done something similar instead of the Gawd-awful schemes they came up with for THEIR Heritage fleet?

NS, you rock! Wish I lived in a part of the country where one of them would be running.

Tom

Which UP used to beat historical societies and hobbyists over the head with trademark infringement claims?

Better ask MTH what they think of this ploy. [|(]

Really hope KATO Steps in and does these for N-Scale!! Would love to pick up more than a few of these!!!
