NS Reroutes ?

For a week or more there has been a train on the CSX A&WP sub every other day at 1600 southbound that appears to be a NS train. This is including today. Items that indicate it is NS :

  1. They are manifest trains with always 3 NS first line locomotives

  2. The 3 locos are in contrast to almost all CSX manifest trains that only use 2 locos.

  3. Almost all cars are private but almost all the RR owned ones on the trains have NS reporting marks.

  4. These trains are filling a time slot that has historically not had any manifests.

Does anyone know any more information. I am just waiting until a heritage unit passes by

A engine or car number would be useful information to determine the identity of these trains.

Here is northwest Indiana I have heard an 053 the past couple of days, which is an unusual symbol.

Just curious what that might be…reroute? or perhaps a dimensional train?

NS 053…sorry for omission.

I heard one on the NKP line this weekend and then this morning on the ex Conrail line seeking a route on the BRC. I believe they are taking it to Commerical Yard on SE side of Chicago for the time being.

That symbol was the post Katrina movement of portable housing from Elkhart to Louisiana which ran for a year or so…perhaps this is a special move of some sort.
