I am spending the weekend out in the Altoona area of Pennsylvania. I spent time on the West Slope today and caught this pair of SD40-2’s shoving hard on the rear of an Eastbound 20T Stacktrain at Lilly, Pennsylvania, roughly 20 miles East of Johnstown, Pa. [:)]Lilly is a great place to watch trains. Haven’t been there in years. Is the signal bridge just south of your location still there??
Rob
Yes, the Signal Bridge is South (Railroad West) of that location. The signalbridge area is good for morning shots on the Track 1 side. The overpass where I was at is also good for morning shots facing West and afternoon shots facing East…The angle that I used is good from roughly 1PM until about 4 or 5PM during this time of year. Once you get much later than that, shadows start creeping onto Track 3 and work their way across the Railroad.
