The best thing about this program is the handsome paint job…which should be the new NS livery!
The stylistic paint scheme should be adopted to other Norfolk Southern locomotives in Tuscan red and cardinal red. The Tuscan red would also match the business trains.
We’ve come a long way from when (I’m told, since it was before my day) you could locate the railroad yard in town by the smudge of smoke hanging in the air from the switch engines. Environmental regulations can be a pain to deal with–we’ve heard it before, guys, so save it for later instead of repeating it all here–but you have to admit railroaders work in safer, healthier surroundings now than 50 or 75 years ago.
I’ll jump on the
Dang keyboard - I’ll jump on the paint scheme thoughts with my two cents. Black on the upper body, dulux gold band, over tuscan red.
That sounds good Jim
NS still has a long way to go in Lafayette, IN, where some of the locomotives at south yard look like they need a set of rings to cut down on the large amounts of blue smoke they emit.
