NS vs. CSX

I was just wondering how many people like CSX and how many like NS.
I was also wondering what you think about each railroad. Whether NS is better or CSX is the king of the East.

I like CSX better, because it has a good variety of leased units and also is seen quite frequently with foreign power. NS usually has its primer (unpainted), regular and Conrail units, which usually get pretty boring. Also, NS is quite obssessed with Dash 9s. I will always go with CSX, because of there colorful variety. Plus, CSX has 3 different paint schemes. NS has 2 with the same old colors. Although both have Conrail units, I still like CSX’s Conrails better. Not only is there renumber colors better but they are mostly SD40-2s, in Ohio anyways. NS’s Conrails have lame-o white patches with black numbers and are mostly Dash 9s. I do love NS’s “River Street Rambler” though, because it has quite a mix of rainbow colors. I also don’t mind NS’s cat unit. CSX dark future’s (Yn3) units rock though. My favorite CSX is that big ol’ AC4400 in the dark future. They’re new and squeaky clean. Also NS is not caught as much with foreign or leased power. I still enjoy it though. But if I had to pick it be CSX by a long shot. I say CSX is the king of the east with nearly 30,000 miles of track, where NS only has about 25,000 or so. I can’t really keep up with their mileage. CSX, I think, will always be a step ahead of NS though. Not cutting it down or anything.[8D][;)]

Not in your area, but where I live I see NS with CNW, UP, IC, CN, MRL, BNSF, BN, SF, NREX, HLCX, CEFX, CR, CP, SOO. Here’s the thing though I live on the NS Main Line.

NS is the best!!! Also, icmr, have you recently seen any Montana Rail Link’s engines go through?

echo echo echo…

Bobby, I saw one go through on 7-13-03 #290

The last one that Zach and I saw was earlier this year, it was a CEFX AC4400 with the Rail Link. It was eastbound.

Bobby, thans for the info. If I see another one I will let you know

Definitely CSX!

Depends upon how you define ‘better’…better to rail fan? better to ship by? better to own stock in ? better to work for? Better to merge with?
