Shunts are/were not authorized/required.
Good Deity, what kind of bravado merit badge is required to work on Metro North’s track, bridge and signal gangs?
Granted a shunt puts stop signals up for all directions entering at the nearest control points (absolute, “controlled”) which slows trains approaching the CP’s; does it mean that by voice or by computer controlled dispatching isolating the work limits that the restricting approach signals aren’t displayed for trains to be diverted around the track and time work limits?

Connecticut sucks

This should be implemented without delay. Duh!!!
