Britt, I have too have read in the railroad press over the years that it is called ‘Shared Asset Operation’ but I think that is more a factual description, perhaps coined by journalists or unofficially by management. The company website however names the entity as ‘CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION’. See http://www.conrail.com/
I said when this first happened that I bet nobody got of the engine to see if the bridge was locked up.
