I don’t think inward facing cameras would have prevented this fatigue accident

This will make a good movie. “The Return of the Silver Streak.”

The “automatic” braking ( Station stop) came on, but failed to stop the train…Why it automatically came on is up for discussion…

So what is it with union bosses throwing their members under the bus to the media(or train in this case)? First the Metro North engineer, now the CTA operator. Remember when everyone would say ‘no comment’ until an offical report was released?

NPR is reporting that the operator fell asleep at the controls of the train. They said that she was new and had worked an “erratic” schedule and was suffering from fatigue.

Of course yet another story about fatigue. Maybe instead of fighting for cameras facing inward, the feds should focus on things like mandatory days off for extra board employees, or 10 hour days instead of 12. Cameras can’t PREVENT accidents, just point blame…
