Was the NTTX car a 5 unit articulated car? and what was the longest container it could have on it?
The NTTX cars were five-unit, articulated skeleton cars. They were capable of handling 48-foot containers, but I don’t remember them well enough to say whether they could handle 40s and 45s as well. They were all gone by 2000.
I did not realize it had been that long since I saw one of those.

The newest, most recent photos showing these cars in service hauling containers were in 2006.
Lyon Wonder’s photo site has shots taken in 2006. Evidently my source for their 2000 disappearance is in error. Sorry about that!
