I think it has to do with the attitude of alot of the people in Hollywood. How many times have you seen an interview with some idiot celebrity mocking people just because they do not live in the Hollywood area, or are not famous? I remember a few years ago, Tim Allen was on the tonight show. He was talking about how he was filming something in the Kern River Canyon and was injured. They took him to a local doctor. On the show he was making fun of all of the people he encountered. It seems like if you are not one of them you are a geek who is to be made fun of.
