NW Ohio model railroaders

Returning to this wonderful hobby after many decades I’m looking for others close by anyone in the NW Ohio area?

Welcome to the forum. 20 years ago, prior to my Colorado move, there was and I believe still is an active group in Toledo. They sponser a big train show twice a year. Their name escapes me, but you should be able to find event announcements for their shows in MR.

Thank you I’ll look them up

The active groups I’m aware of in the Toledo area are the NMRA Division (Div. 1, North Central Region), The Hobo Crew modular club, and the Blissifield Model Railroad Club, a few miles northwest across the state line in Michigan. There are several informal private groups who meet to operate on each others’ home layouts, but they’re not quite as visible.

The NMRA Division meets on the third or fourth Friday of the month, from September through May, at Collingwood Presbyterian Church at Collingwood Blvd. and Floyd Street, in Toledo. Guests are welcome.

The big train show that used to be held several times a year at the Key Street Rec Center in Maumee was sold to a new owner a number of years ago. Within a couple of years after that, changes at the Rec Center drove costs up (including a much-hated $3/car parking fee imposed by the landlord). After the owner could find no other suitable venues in the Toledo area, the show was moved to a smaller venue at the MBT Expo Center, about 30 miles north at the Monroe County (Michigan) Fairgrounds.

thanks for the information
