I went over the spur to NWS Seal Beach over Interstate 405 over the weekend and noticed the tracks have been removed. It has probably been decades since anything went into or out of there by rail.
From Google Maps, it looks like they were in the process of removing tracks within the station when the photographs were taken. I guess they have stopped moving munitions around the base by rail also.
You might want to try another more western oriented site for any information you desire. How did you get almost five thousand posts in one month?

I thought the spur to Seal Beach went under the 405. I have pictures of ties being salvaged next to Arnie’s Trains that I took when I was there in November 2012.

Seal Beach NWS discontinued railroad operations several years ago in favor of using trucks. Railroad movements had been declining for years due to the changing nature of operations on the base and naval warfare. There still some remenants of the system on the base, such as some very old box cars, but those will be gone soon. In addition, there has been talk of shutting down the entire base because it is located in a populated area with high priced real estate.
On the flip side, other branches of the military have expanded their railroad operations such as Fort Carson, Colorado.
The spur to the base did not go under the 405. That was the Huntingtton Beach branch that went under the 405, and then at Hazard & Hoover streets is where the Seal Beach NMS switch came off of the branch
They both went under 405. The spur to the base came off the the branch before it went under 405.

Hey Eric, Thanks for the flashback!!! about a half a lifetime ago I worked in that area. Had many lunches at the in & out on Westminster.even back then those tracks looked abandoned. Suprised that they were still in use that recently.

I suspect they only recieved a few cars a year at most.
