Can someone advise about the correct wheel replacement for an Athearn U30B diesel that is 15-20 years old? From searches here this is what I came up with.
37142-4 HO 42in/110 half axle, inside frame wheelset
I sent a request to NWSL 3 days ago but have not yet gotten a reply.

According to some specs I found, the U30Bs actually had 40" wheels, so these would be more appropriate. All Athearn BB diesels use the same wheels and axles, so the NWSL wheels will fit all models with the inside frame truck design (they also make wheels for the older outside frame Athearns).

BTW: I admire the builds you’ve done with the Bowser kits. I’m attempting one now – the Atlantic 4-4-2 – and it is a challenge.
Personally, I’d go with the code 88 width instead of the 110.
NWSL offers lots of choices for Athearn BB; as noted outside frame (pre Athearn SD40-2 time frame) vs inside frame (the last 30 years or so).
The next choice is 40" or 42" (36" and 45" are also offered by some suppliers, not sure about NWSL).
Then width: .110", .088" and two .064" versions.
It is almost like going to uce cream shop - so many choices, all will work…
