i ahve pictures as soon as I can get them posted of narrow gauge steam railroads used on the bottom of the erie canal during contruction and maintance during the closed season. They were used for the steam shovels. The tracks were laid by the workman. I am not sure here but how long did it take to lay temp. construction track.
