I was at the local club meeting & i got this
Werid never seen one before it appears to be a mantua kitbash . Anyone seen & Ho vesrsion b4 ?
I dont model eric so i guess it will be a display
That is weird.
Rich
Not weird at all. Most early articulated locos were slow speed helpers like this. Like these, most did not last long, or not in their original form, as loco technology advanced.
Sheldon
what’s weird?
that it’s articulated?
that it’s a camelback?
that it has no leading truck to support the cylinders?
I think the word “weird” fits for most of us because we haven’t seen this before. That’s all.
i never know how to interprest such a statement, for example someone says it’s a great movie, you think it’s the story, but they thik it’s great because of the acting and actually thought the story wasn’t so good.
so it’s weird because you’ve never seen a camelback loco before
I believe that is what he is saying.
Rich
Yes.
I will go with the first part of the definition. “Strikingly odd or unusual”. They are certainly unusual since there were only several made.
There were only three articulated camelback locomotives ever built.
To me, that qualifies as strikingly odd or unusual.
Someone did a great job of modeling the Erie engine. It even has the low pressure cylinders in front. Adding some of the details shown in the prototype photo would make it a museum piece.
