Hi Everyone I was just reading the weather report. And they are saying that wisconsin can expect snow in April. They are saying that we could get between 4 and 8 inches depending on what part of the state you live in. Last I saw they had just issued a winter storm warning for milwaukee county. But then again who really knows the news people don’t know which way the storm will track if it tracks to the south we’ll get more rain mixed with snow and if it tracks to the north they;ll get more snow up there and we’ll get the rain which. Will be really good cause I don’t want no more snow. I want warmer weather But then again my luck would be we get the worst of it. BOO BOO BOO BOO
I for one am sick and tired of winter. It is OK in November, as a novelty in photos but after that, well… 1.) I wanna retire! 2.) I know there are no railroads on Maui, but once I retire there would I mind? I can always fly to where they are for a week or so and see my [sigh] relatives and get a train fix. OK, nurse I’ll go now…
Actually there are railroads in Hawaii I don’t know if there any on maui but. I could be wrong. And your right it’s nice in Nov. but come on it’s april it’s time for rain not snow. I can deal with rain even though it can be really hard to drive in sometimes.
If you have seen the movie Snakes on a Plane, you will have proof there Hawii has railroads, they even run Autoracks over there!! [:P]
This morning it was 5 degrees out with a -15 wind chill and intermitent snow showers.
For those who don’t want to leave the continental 48, my home town offers a few overnight freezes between December and early March, generally warm weather (in April, we consider 65 to be cold!) and if you want to see snow you have to look west to Mount Charleston.
OTOH, between July and early December our highs are a balmy 110+. If you want to railfan UP (which runs parallel to the Strip) you’ll want a wide-brimmed sombrero and industrial strength sunscreen, not to mention plenty of bottled water.

I’m in Iowa and we’re scheduled for 3 to 6 inches between now and 7pm wednesday! [(-D]
Have a good one.

Streets are wet, lawns are white, as we speak. More falling, but is not expected to amount to much–three inches, tops. At least I hope that’s all!
I am going railfanning this weekend and it’s predicted to be in the 70’s! I do feel for guys in snow territory.
Yeah by this weekend they are talkin of having temps in to the 50’s and 60’s but.I’m not holding my breath anymore as of right now we have around 1 1/2 of snow on ground and they are talkin about up to 5 and 9 inches before it’s all over and done.
Who doesn’t like winter. Back when they had a caboose on a train there was no finer place on a winter day. I can smell the oil stove right now.
here in indiana we’ve had a little bit of everthing today it started out with 3 inches of snow followed by rain and tonight we are expecting thunder showes with hail yeah
I was in Hawaii just a year ago, and i don’t believe there are any autoracks or other freight trains. There’s a small tourist steam line on Maui and I think that the Dole plantation on Oahu stopped runnin’ their train.
Same here. I really only enjoy snow from November to January, then it starts to get old. Unfortunately we don’t really get any snow until mid-January, and by then you want it out of here and it sticks around until March. I did get some good video of Amtrak in the snow in January, but that was really the only thing I was greatful for from our storm. It was FREEZING every single day for almost two months. I wish it would end, and I thought it did, but now it’s back into the 40’s. Not as bad as it was, but geez…I wouldn’t care if it got up to 85 in the next few days. Good luck on that one, though. [sigh]
Winter? When did that happen? [;)][:-^]
Here in the globally warmed up [}:)] Netherlands we seem to have gone from a warm autumn to a warm spring directly. Only two days of a light snow and that was gone by nightfall. Guess who had to work and could not take pictures!
This weekend we are going to have a nice weekend with sunny 25 degrees Centigrade, poor runners in Sundays Rotterdam marathon! And most likely once again no world record![:(!]
Greetings from sunny, cloudless and already warm Rotterdam,
Marc Immeker
The NWS has issued a blizzard watch for our area. I am really sick of snow (I was sick of by the end of last November), although we have had a pretty good run of nice weather for the past couple of months.
Weather forcast or trains?
Not even a snowflake here in Missouri, but there is atleast ONE snowflake year round in Arizona! (get it, Snowflake, AZ)
And the totals are: Five and a half inches of snow here in Madison, and about a sixteenth inch of ice last night that I had to bust off after work.
Snow cover varied a lot, there is five inches of snow at my house, but about three miles down the road next to Lake Kegonsa, no snow cover at all…
