Hi everyone.
I just got my Oct. issue of GR and I must say WOW. I think it was almost the perfect issue. I found just about everything usefull, The plans, the plant article, the new series on batteries, the list goes on. If you saw my other post on building structures. The issue addressed that too. My wonderful wife dropped the hint that I might be getting a RUBY live steam kit for my birthday next month. There was the review. Thanks GR keep them coming. [:)]
Hey there,
A RUBY? Woooooooooo…that’s a good deal! Just received my issue yesterday. Yeah it sure turned out to be a good one. Lot’s of info. Even Marc’s opening article on Scratchbuilding and Kitbashing has me thinking of winter projects. Need to finish some too! Fall is approaching so that means a shift in RR’ing. Later eh…Brian.
This issue is definitely a HOME RUN!!!

What I particularly liked was the outside cover advertising sleeve. When I took it out the mailbox my initial reaction was – oh no, they have gone el cheapo and now have a cardboard cover instead of the normal fantastic glossy photo – and this following the change at the beginning of this year from high quality glossy paper inside the magazine to something resembling sandwich wrap that is semi- transparent with stuff on the previous page shining through – which completely ruined my habit of scanning things to keep in my computer for quick reference.
But this time the outer sleeve is a winner in my eyes because it protects the cover which was regularly shredded by our neanderthal mailman who is determined to force a 3" wad of mail through a 2" slot.
So yes, my vote also goes to the October issue as the best this year. Now can we go back to glossy paper inside??[?][:)]
brian nice job on your father’s day train show great idea jmozz
Hey there,
Many thanks. It is really cool to see the pics in there. Another neat thing as a result of the article is an email I received. Another Large Scale hobbiest here in Wpg. contacted me. We are going to get together later this month and get a club started here! Huge bonus. Looks like we will be getting some help with setting up that display next year. Later eh…Brian.[tup] [tup]
What happened to the Article on the track sweeper?
I think it is one of the BEST issues that has been put in print.
Ron
Sorry about the track sweeper article. As can sometimes happen, we had to pull it at the last minute. It will run in a future issue.
