Anybody else get a large dark grey box obscuring the text when trying to read this post?
nope, seemed fine to me
Nope, no grey box here!
I did until I stopped giving negative ratings to threads![;)]
Odd, because I STILL am.
Only thread it seems to be happening with, too…
It’s just like an overlay “skin” that opens a split second after the page loads.
suxx too.
EXACT same color as the little bar seperator between posts where the time and date are shown, except this obscures the left 2/3 of the trains site.
Hey, I’ve “hi rated” a few as well.
Worked fine for me.
OK for me, but my sig picture is missing half!
There after you AG !!!
Quick! find the foil hat, the shotgun and head for the hills!!!
works OK for me, must be more bugs in the system…
Pathfinder you have to resize your signature pic, it wount take large pics anymore, I had to use a smaller size for mine to get it to show entirely.
You are now limited in the sig pic with this new format. You can use the pic for your avatar though.
I’m noticing there are times the whole site is not responding. Perhaps some repairs and adjustments?

I put that post in mostly white writing, it was just in case my forum, er, the Trackside Guide Forum, was not brought forward in the changeover.
[bow] Thanks but what is the new size limit?
Well, it’s odd, because it’s still happening, and just with that thread.
for comparison sakes, up in the forums main header, just below the word Trains, and over to the right side where it says " Faq | Update Profile | Logout "
Everything from the F in “Faq”, and to the left is covered with this dark gray box, so that’s like what? the left 2/3 of the page? (roughly)
It’s a very long post, and if I scroll down far enough I get to a point where the gray box is gone, but at that point are a bunch of posts that are blank, containing no text.
Whats REALLY noteworthy is that for several months, the Trains.com web cam has not been working for me. the picture area was just black.
I had tried reinstalling Java, yada yada, making sure all my multimedia plugins were installed correctly, all to no avail…and had pretty much just given up. Seems like whenever there are problems like that the admins suggest a few “windows only” repair tips, and the second you tell them you’re not using windows, they use that as an out, claiming they only ~support~ windows systems…so I didn’t even bother…
Now, lo and behold, with the web cam presented from this new format, the live cam works for me, just out of the blue.
Since I have changed nothing at this end over the last 96 hours, it looks safe to conclude the problem was not at my end on the web cam issue…anyway.
It might be that you are not waiting long enough for the page to download. It is at least 3 times longer than any other page on the forums and has over 4100 links on it.

That’s cool…actually I first opened the post thinking you were looking for a storage service, then, upon opening the thread, saw what you were doing…and figured out pretty close to what you mention.
But the odd forum behavior I observed, became an even bigger issue than my initial curiousity, especially since it’s the only thread I seem to be having it on
The “white” text explains all the blank pages I’m seeing lower on the page . thanks…
NOw I am getting multiple error messages when I try to get to the forums…
LC
I had problems with Internet Explorer, but none with Mozilla Firefox 1.5.
I’ve got several “connection refused” denials tonight when trying to access the forum from a bookmark, and several local error messages, telling me the system is too busy, when trying to reply to a thread
