Spent a little time around San Bernardino this week and saw 2 odd lash-ups.
The first was an all NS consist of 3 units leading a BNSF stack train into the San Bern ramp.
The other was a BNSF-NS-CSX-BNSF consist heading a manifest train around Devore, headed for the hill.
As posted elsewhere here, lots of signs of the construction work going on to add the 3rd track. Seems everywhere I went, there were construction or bridge building machines.
I also saw a Sounder locomotive (perhaps #901 or 903) on a Metrolink train into San Bern station. Fit in fairly well.
That’s not that uncommon out here. That sounder engine has been at San Berdo for years now. Last week I caught a warbonnet leading five NS engines East. Today it seemed like a warbonnet was leading every train. But we get a lot of NS, CSX leading trains and lots of other weird engines in the consist pretty regularly.
Did not have my camera ready SORRY but Sunday coming home from Clovis NM after seeing my brother I saw a GP30 and a SD75M 8282 leading 8 brand new Ferramex units on the Transcon were they took them I have no clue.
