In the past week I have seen more odd things to this area than any other time.
I have seen,
BNSF SD70 in corperate paint.
An odd train that was only a few cars long with odd cars with explosive placards (I will post pics on a seperate thread when I get them scanned.
The Ringling Bros Circus Red train
A SLC 2002 Olympics unit
and a Green Goat on a move east.
After a full day of train chasing on the CP’s River Sub Saturday, I got home late and started to examine the shots I managed to capture with my digital. Big Girl used film and had the pictures put on CD
System wide, CP has 25, SD40-2F’s. When I saw 9000, I thought it looked strange. It was nice enough to stop and pose for me at Red Wing.
OK so I saw one of 25, but just a couple hours later, there was her sister 9009. My camera screwed up, but Big Girl managed to get the shot.
We didn’t get the CD back until tonight. What I didn’t realize was that even earlier in the day, we saw one of only 5, SD60M’s. It was the second unit, and I missed it completely, but Big Girl came through in grand style.
I saw 2 Grain cars on being hauled down the road on the back of flat trailers today, had to take a double look due to no trucks on the cars. really odd site though, but further down the road at the yard i saw they had several others in a simliar situation, so not sure what they were doing with them.
I saw a Rail America SW1500 in SoCal…running light westbound on the Escondido branch…now that is weird
