Hello all
Over on my SP forum Southern Pacific Lines Forum - Login our member John (espeelover) has a project of collecting SP SPINS books and having them copied by the Southern Pacific Historical and Technical Society. John is a founding member of the SPH&TS. We are looking for anyone that has them, and wishes to have them copied and sent back to you. Below is a post that John made on the SP forum…
"Howdy, I have been in conversation with well placed members of the SPH&TS about getting some SPINS books printed up to sell to members and interested parties. I was told, that a while back, such an idea was broached amongst the members, but that nobody had stepped forward to spearhead such a project. I want to tell you now, that problem is no longer an issue; as I have volunteered to jump into that gap; to see if we can indeed get this program moving.
What I need now is for people to volunteer to loan us their SPINS books, which will be copied carefully and returned. So at this moment, I am seeking anyone who is willing to help me by letting me know which books (zones) they have. I also will need the dates your SPINS were published on the list. In this way, I will know what is out there, and where to acquire it when production is ready to commence. The society already has a special print service outfit that they use for small runs of limited circulation books, like the yellow covered books, so that is not an issue any longer.
If you have a list of SPINS you are willing to loan for this important project, please email me at…espeelover-SPINS@yahoo.com "
Thanks very much for any help you can give us with this project.
