The recent overrun at the Midway Chicago airport in a winter storm due to lack of runway space sparked a memory a few months back.
Heading home from a funeral, in April 2005; I passed thru Midway as a connecting on Southwest. I took videos all that day and half the night with a memory stick that only produced half the resolution of digital tape. however I cut a long boring 30 minute descent into a exciting landing sequence on which I think was the runway where the other 737 ran off a few weeks ago.
The pilot did a great job planting the craft where it needed to be and that is not easy to do at 150 KIA.
For those who get confused, we passed over the tollway from the SW moving to the NE and I zoomed in on the Sears tower as a reference when we got down.
