Hey everyone, I hope you don’t mind of I show my nerd a bit but I recently purchased this:
Runaway Ghosts
It is very similar to an older video game which I will not mention. LOL!!
However, the ghosts are currently lit up with a Red, a Green and a Blue 110v, 7w, C7 bulb and that just won’t do. Can anyone help me convert that to a super bright LED in each. I want to change them to Red, Green and Yellow. But here is the kicker, I want to make them all turn Blue every couple minutes! can anyone point me to some circuitry to get that done?
Thanks everyone!
Ya, way off topic.
Anyhow, for what its worth, I would suggest that you look at strings of LEDs that are colourable (note the ‘u’ in colourable - that’s Canadian eh!) Something like these:

You won’t be able to control the colours of the individual ghosts but you can change the colours of the whole display.

Where is Randy when we really need him? [:S]

Miniwyo,
I personally would not want to use the existing ones you have, you would have to change a lot of LED’S,plus have a timer circuit,in my opinion,a lot of work…I would seriously consider, looking into, the ones in the link that (hon3critter) Dave, provided, for 28.95,seem’s to me that would work, without having to make your own…
Cheers, [D]

Gonna need some sort of control unit, but the thing to do would be put two sets of LEDs in each ghost, one of the color, one of the blue. The color sets would all be connected together, the blues all together, thn you’d need something to switch them on a periodic basis. For extra credit, have the blue flash a couple of times before going back to the color.
This won;t be simple, and/or cheap - you cna probably find a commercial lighting controller that can program sequences, but it won;t be cheap. Or you can build an interface and control it from a computer. Might be able to do it with X10 type devices, but you’ll need a computer to run the ‘script’ to turn one device on and the other off. Or if using all low voltage, you could build a dirver circuit and control it with an Aurdino or similar.
